Between heritage and creation

 Charbonnières-les-Bains • 2026

HERITAGE • MATERIALS • ART

Surrounding this renovated historic residence, we have envisioned a garden of distinct character—a space where the site’s inherent authenticity engages in a dialogue with contemporary design.

A unique palette of materials—including grey and pink travertine, natural stone, traditional Lyonnais cobblestones, timber, Corten steel, and reclaimed paving—blends heritage with modernity.

The garden is organized into several distinct living areas: a swimming pool bordered by natural stone; a natural pond featuring a filtration lagoon and a wooden jetty; a circular travertine terrace; a pergola for summer dining; an outdoor lounge; a jacuzzi; and a pétanque court. Carefully considered curves and perspectives give structure to the landscape, inviting exploration of its varied atmospheres.

Finally, contemporary sculptures—selected by the owners—punctuate the pathways, further defining the site’s identity. It is a project where antique materials, bespoke features, and artistic creation converge to bring a truly unique garden to life.
