The garden of colors
Drôme provençale • 2020
PROVENCE • CHARM • NATURE
Set on a plot of approximately 15,000 m² in the Drôme Provençale region, this garden complements a cut-stone house situated in a remarkable natural setting. The owners envisioned a Provençal-inspired garden, lush with greenery and featuring various living areas and water features.
The landscape design began by structuring the gently sloping terrain with a stone retaining wall, followed by the organization of distinct spaces around the house. Reclaimed wood and local stone terraces, wrought-iron pergolas draped in greenery, a wildflower meadow, a vegetable garden, a natural pond, and a lap pool create a landscape rich in color and texture.
An arboretum comprising around thirty different tree species complements the abundant planting. Landscape lighting and an automatic irrigation system were designed to ensure the long-term vitality of a garden destined to evolve with the changing seasons.
