A desire for something different

Aging and uninviting, this garden was completely redesigned to unlock the full potential of the existing pool and create a genuine outdoor living space. The owners wanted to recreate the bright, escapist atmosphere of a holiday right in their own backyard. New travertine terraces surround the house, defining the various living areas.

 

From the garden gate, a series of large, square, waxed-concrete stepping stones—staggered in layout and framed by planted beds—guides visitors to the house, instantly creating a warm, holiday-like ambiance. A sheltered, masonry summer kitchen extends the possibilities for outdoor dining, while an outdoor shower complements the pool area.

 

The planting palette, inspired by Mediterranean and subtropical landscapes, brings a sense of freshness, light, and a change of scenery. Stone cladding, natural materials, and carefully planned lighting enhance the overall elegance, resulting in a welcoming garden that shines both day and night.
