The bamboo garden of Anduze

In June 2023 I had the chance to discover the Bambouseraie park located in the Cévennes.

History of this botanical garden: 

The first plantations date from 1856. The species came from China, Japan, North America and the Himalayas.

The mission of this park is to preserve rare species through short- and long-term renewal. Cultivation methods are of course in line with the development and protection of biodiversity.

​

Finally, a little anecdote for moviegoers: it is in this park that Clouzot's "The Wages of Fear" was filmed with Montant and Vanel. You'd swear the action was set in Central America...and wearing it was France.
